Finger Eleven is an alternative rock band that has earned a devoted following. Their first album, Letters From Chutney, was recorded under the name Rainbow Butt Monkeys, with money won from a rock band search contest on local radio. They changed their name to Finger Eleven for their breakthrough Tip, released on Mercury Records in Canada and re-released by Wind-Up Records in the United States in 1998. The name Finger Eleven comes from an earlier version of the song Thin Spirits from the album Tip. Lead singer, Scott Anderson explains: "when everything is pushing you in one direction and your instinct drives you in another--that’s finger eleven." A year later, drummer Rob Gommerman left the band and was replaced by Rich Beddoe.

Spotlights are roaming
The show will begin
I had never thought
But dont give my circus away
I hope it ends before you know me
Ive lost it completely
My faith is lost again Id say
Im tired of this place and I want to go
Riding my carousel
They can never tell
Im spinning and turning
Always revolving
You should have seen it
Where were you?
I needed a stage
To walk all over you
Thats better
Im throwing my three ring away
And I can hear you say
Im tired of this place
Im tired of this place and then I think of
Riding my carousel
They can never tell
Close all of the doors
Lock me away
Im happy Im here
So let me stay
